Puzzling sentences

I made up the following sentences and I would appreciate it if you told me whether they are correct or not.

1-No matter how hard our enemies try to harm our country, it will remain lofty with its Christians and Muslims.

2- Countries depend on three: teachers for education, farmers for nourishment, and soldiers for protection.

1. "remain lofty" is not correct. I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say.

2. Three what? You need some word(s) after "three", such as "three types of people" or "three profession". "nourishment" seems a slightly odd word choice. "food would be better, I think.
