Putting the article correct?

Hi. Please help me with these.

1. I don't think we can put an article, both definite and indefinite, in front of the word "both."

Two people on the both sides must exchange seats.

2. I think I saw the indefinite article before the word "particularization." Could we use the phrase like the one below?

1. I don't think we can put an article, both definite and indefinite, in front of the word "both." Two people on both sides must exchange seats.--That's right: no article before 'both'. But I think we would say 'each'-- 'two people on each side....'.

2. I think I saw the indefinite article before the word "particularization." Could we use the phrase like the one below?
