Can I say,

(a) The firemen is putting out the house.

(b) The firemen is putting out fire / putting out a fire.

(c) The foremen is putting out fire from the house / burned/ burning house,

I think when we speak of "putting out," "fire" is only countable. Examples of uncountable fire: There was fire everywhere. Fire from the roof spread to the living quarters.

I think when we speak of "putting out," "fire" is only countable.

Examples of uncountable fire: There was fire everywhere. Fire from the roof spread to the living quarters. I smell fire. I've spent my life fighting fire. (also countable) I smell a fire. I've spent my life fighting fires.

(c) is uncommon.

When we say "from," we're usually indicating that what we see at point A has a source at point B. It works much better with "smoke" than with "fire."

As we drove up the highway, we could barely see the oncomming traffic. Smoke from the forest fire had reduced visibility to about a hundred yards.
