Putting commas to mention dates in letters?
Is it correct to mention a date in a letter in this way: "...leaving the country on 12th September, 2011, and his family would be accompanying him. " Or should it be in this way: "...leaving the country on 12th September 2011, and his family would be accompanying him. "
