put/gone

The fuel price has put up by 5%.

The fule price has gone up by 5%.

To me the both sentences sound good, but I woder if there is any difference between them.

Both sentence are correct but the above sentence sounds appropriate.

I wouldn't use the first sentence. Perhaps 'has been up' would be acceptable, but the second sente
