I will put the money up for your school picnic, so you can put yourself down to your teacher for the school picnic.

Is this sentence correct?

Well everything is okay but how can you put yourself down to someone? Say list instead of your teacher . ( Well,at least this is what I think)

I have seen in the dictionary that "to put down" means "to include a name in the event".
