This little girl has been crying for more than 2 hours, put her to bed / to sleep.
This little girl has been crying for the past two hours, put her to bed / to sleep.

Which of the above sentence is correct and which one should I have to use put to bed or put to sleep.Is there any differences between them?

Please help me.
