Put something [on/in] your hand/palm

I have made up the sentences below.

(1a) I will put a pen in/on your hand.

(1b) I will put a pen in/on your palm.

(2a) I will put a large book in/on your hand.

(2b) I will put a large book in/on your palm.

I always have trouble with prepositions. I am not sure which preposition fits best in each sentence. Thank you very much for your help.
