Put some warm clothes on the baby

Hi

Please look at these sentences. Are they natural and synonymous in meaning? I am not really sure about the second sentence.

Put some warm clothes on the baby.

Put on some warm clothes for the baby.

Is there any other way of saying the same thing?

No, the second one is not good. I can't think of another reasonable way of saying #1, but I'm sure somebody with a bright idea will come along.
