Put pressure on vs under pressure

Could you please tell me how to say this sentence?

1 The braces put a lot of pressure on my teeth, moving them into place. /My teeth are under pressure becuase the braces have just been tightened, moving them into place.

How would you express the following in bold:

Lets say the dentist tighten the braces each month, but you missed your last appointment so you couldn't tighten it the month before.

So the doctor the following month tightens my braces twice/does 2 months worth of tightening.

Thank you
