Put On or Wear

Hello everyone,

Is it okay to use "put on" and "wear" as follows?

1. I put on my wrist watch.

2. I wore my wrist watch.

Before you did that, your wrist was bare. After that, it had a wristwatch on it. (note the spelling)

Joseph A2. I wore my wrist watch.

Among the things on your body was a wristwatch.
