' it ' is missing Emotion: smile

Put it another way

'It' is not missing; inserting 'it' creates a comma splice error. We are looking at a nonfinite clause, whl: Put another way, my sister is a tramp.

A tramp? Mister, what do you mean by a tramp?

BTW, may I use these in official or academic written English?

Sorry, I just know how to do it. Just at the top of each post.

These are fine for formal writing-- or any other use:

Put another way,
Said another way,
In other words,
That is,
I.e.,
(in formal writing this abbreviation should only be used in parenthetical remarks)

Can I say 'To put it another way'?

Thanks.

No, never. It is an idiom; you do not want to modify it. If you say that way, it sounds arkward. BTW, I suppose you want to use it to replace "put it another way"

Osee, I don't agree.

Let me put this another way, to put it another way, put another way, etc. - these all sound fine to me.
