"Put an eye on..."?

Is there such saying as "put an eye on..."?

Does it simply mean "keep an eye on...." or "let's take a look at..."

or something else?

Thanks!

I know this is an old question, but in what context did you hear this? To, "put the eye on," someone is akin to cursing them.
