What really gets under my skin is people who push straight to the front of the line.

What is the meaning of the part in bold type????

People who do not wait for their turn. They go to the "front" or "head" of the line of people who are waiting. (I would have also said "are people" instead of "is people" because it is so close to people that it sounds wrong.
