Hello everybody,

Distillation is also mentioned in the same text, so I guess I have to keep that distinction, don't you think? I have found purifying oil on the google. What's wrong whit it?

I'd suggest just a little tweak to that:

There are three basic procedures in oil processing: preparation for processing (cleaning/removing impurities from the oil), distillation and refinement of the obtained products. Oil processing is conducted in oil refineries.

In this context you are discussing a very early stage in the treatment and processing of the petroleum. It's still a long way away from anything which can be called 'pure' so you are not 'purifying it. The dirt and muck that comes out of the earth with it are being removed so, for me, better that you use 'removing impurities.

It's a subtle distinction but a clear difference to chemists.
