Purely relative terms

Hi.

What does " in purely relative terms" means in following paragraph ?

"The film cost $100,000 USD to produce, and ran for months in several markets.[citation needed] eventually earning $27 million in North America, alone ($140 million in constant-2010 dollars) in fewer than 800 theaters, becoming the most profitable 3-Dimensional film to date, and in purely relative terms, one of the most profitable films ever"

Hi I think the writer means that, given how little it cost, and given how few theatres it was shown in, then it was one of the most profitable films ever If you took a film that cost more to make and was shown more widely, you would probably find that this second film made more profit But - relatively - considering the scale of cost and the distribution - the film you mention was, in a way, more profitable Hope this helps, Dave
