Puncuation at the end of a sentence with a remark in parentheses

If you have a statement in parentheses at the end of a sentence does the puncuation come at the very end after the parentheses for before the remark in parentheses?

Top answer

I would have to see the specific sentence. I suspect that it varies with the rest of the punctuation, though I envision a period always coming outside the closing parenthesis.
