Punctuation related- please help, thank you!
I can’t decide if the word that comes after an exclamation mark should be uppercase or lowercase.
would you write it as:
1. “Ring!” The alarm clock sounded.
2. “Ring!” the alarm clock sounded.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

In my view both are possible. However, a more usual word order for (2) would be "Ring!" sounded the alarm clock.
