Punctuation of "re"

If I'm using "re" in a sentence, for example "It gives clear instructions re missed tests." should there be a colon after re? If so, are there any cases where one would not need the colon?

Hi,

No, you don't need a colon.

It's like saying

"It gives clear instructions about/concerning missed tests."
