Punctuation for abbreviated name

If I want to abbreviate a name, such as "Dr. P" or "Mr. S" do i put a period after the P/S? Need reply a.s.a.p. as this is for an article I am editing for work. Thank you.

You do put a period after P/S. However, you do not put a period after Dr or Mr (No full stop if an abbreviation ends with last letter of word).
