Punctuation : comma, dash or nothing instead of "is "

"Not knowing is blessing (,/-/.) ignorance(,/-) the only protection"

Which punctuation would you use? Since the "is" is missing in the second part, I don't know how to replace it.

However, I don't want to change the words because it's a quote.

At the moment I'm going with

"Not knowing is blessing, ignorance the only protection "

since that's what I found online in the lyrics.

Its from the song "Numbing the pain" by heaven shall burn if you need more context or something

I'd like to hear some opinions about the grammar, not about the quote itself please:)

Not knowing is a blessing, ignorance the only protection.

Correct grammar requires the 'a'.
