Punctuation

Hi Everyone,

In the following sentence, I am assuming that the last word of the sentence - year's - is possessive?

I compared this year's stock with last year's.

My spell check in Word tells me that the word should be without an apostrophe.

What do you think?

Cheers,

I'd certainly include the apostrophe. Does Word think it's a plural, do you suppose?
