Hi,

Can you help?

Ann took her books, lunch, files etc to her granny's.

Do we need to use comma before etc?

You really need this: Ann took her books, lunch, files , etc. to her granny's. ': Ann took her books, lunch, files , and other stuff to her granny's.

You really need this:

Ann took her books, lunch, files, etc. to her granny's.

That is why it is better to avoid 'etc.':

Ann took her books, lunch, files, and other stuff to her granny's.
