Punctuation

Hi!
I have several questions.

1) If I write only initial of the name in front of the surname, should I put a fullstop? exp. W. Ury?
2) Does a number indicating a footnote come before or after the fullstop at the end of the sentence?

Thank you

Yes, you need a full stop after an initial in a name. It is considered an abbreviation and abbreviations require this. Put the footnote number outside / after any punctuation marks.
