Hello,

For a caption under a photo is this correct

Mangrove Kingfisher. Photo: Steve Garvie

My feeling is that a period after Kingfisher is not correct and the caption should be as below.

Mangrove Kingfisher Photo: Steve Garvie

Are either of these correct?

It is not a sentence, Darcy, so you can do as you wish. I agree that the period is uncalled for. You can also do something like this: Mangrove Kingfisher (photo by Steve Garvie)
