When writing an essay comparing two poems and one of the poems titles ends with a question mark and also ends your sentence in the essay, would you put a period inside the quotation marks after the question mark or outside of the quotations?

Top answer

No period. The question mark remains inside and the quotation mark finishes the sentence. If you don't like that look, you'll need to rearrange your sentence (like finishing with the other poem title).
