Pulled this trick

Not that Sri Lanka have not pulled this trick a couple of times themselves. Motera in 2005, they failed to send anyone on the first two days until the ever-courteous and obliging manager Michael Tissera was told that Indian media would also like a member of the visiting side to chat to them as well.

If a captain is grumpy after an embarrassing defeat, he still needs to attend what is a team duty, or send someone senior to give his views and comments. This is where the manager should co-ordinate his role to ensure such an episode is not repeated as what this explains is while India batted like a bunch of morons, they don't need to behave that way as well.

Please explain to me the highlighted parts.
