"pulled", "hay" and "cart"

Hi all,

What do "pulled", "hay" and "cart" mean in the phrase: "He pulled the hay cart with all of his might"? I know the meaning of each words but still can't get the meaning of the phrase.

Could you explain it to me/simplify it?

A "hay cart" is a type of cart (wheeled vehicle) that is used for transporting hay (dried grass). Does that make it clear?
