PULL SOME STUPID ***

Hi, I'm not quite sure about the meaning of this PULL here, on this sentence from Miles Davis's Autobiography:

'He'd leave the stage and go throw up and come back like nothing had happened. He'd PULL some stupid shit.'

I guess it referes to that after he made this and come back to the stage like nothing, he'd say some stupid joke, isn't?
