Public restroom faucet

How would you explain this?

In public restrooms, there are faucet where you have to push down on the faucet (noose) to get a flow stream of water for as long as it takes for the button to go back up.

Thank you

I know them well, and they usually don't have hot water! Faucet works as well as anything, I think. In your sentence, you need to make it plural, however.

In BE they're called taps.

What has 'noose' got to do with anything?

In some public restrooms there are faucets without the traditional control valves. With these, there is a large button over the spigot that you push down on. The button then comes slowly back up, and the water flows for as long as the button is in the process of returning to its original position.
