Please help me check this essay!!!

Topic: Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that other measures are required.

Essay:

People have different views with regard to the question of how to make public health better. In my opinion, both building new sports facilities and a wide range of other measures should be used together to promote healthy habits.

On the one hand, building new sports facilities can certainly help to encourage more people to participate in sporting activities. People tend to enroll as the members in sports facilities which have just been built in their local area because they can reduce the amount of commuting time. For example, when it takes about 30 minutes or 1 hour to get to these facilities, some busy people will never have the luxury to add doing sports to their timetables. Moreover, new facilities with modern equipment can improve the quality of people’s practice, it means their body can get stronger in shorter time and they will have more motivation to maintain their participation in sports. In this way, a large number of citizens will have the habit of doing sports, and as a result public health can be improved gradually.

On the other hand, I believe that public health can be promoted in several ways apart from sports facilities. Firstly, more attention should be paid to public health program, like providing vaccinations to prevent diseases, upgrading the facilities in healthcare center as well as hospitals to make sure patients are treated carefully,… At the same time, government should put nutrition issue on the alert and take steps to tackle this problem due to the rise in obesity in recent years. Secondly, some measures should be carried out to solve problems regarded to the environment which directly affect human health. Finally, it is vitally necessary to educate, inform and empower people about the importance of health so they will be self-motivated to take care of their own health

In conclusion, while sports facilities play important role in improving public health, I believe other measures should be introduced.
