Psychic detectives
The police should not use the psychic detectives more often when the case remain unsolved.
One important reason to not use psychic detective is the lack in their track record. They may provide new tips by using all the evidences gathered by the police or their own technique, but most of the time it’s a general statement or they miss the target. They truly believe that everybody can’t develop this talent by working a lot and they got it from the unknown. For example, at the beginning, Allison Dubois was a psychic detective with a success track record who helped the police on many cases. After many episodes on a TV Show, independent analysis was done which she failed the test and his TV Show Medium was canceled. In fact, the majority of the psychic detective community don’t have a certified track record by the police or an independent organization.
Another good reason is their advice or vision are general and don’t provide new tips to find out quickly the killer. With tips from the psychic detective, the police could proceed with caution and look into any new leads with less time invested, but the information is always too broad. Without the psychic, the police would eventually find the killer because they can gather a lot of information by using their techniques and the tips from the public. In my opinion, an unsold case is always bad for the police track record, but wasting a good amount of money by listening to every psychic detective isn’t better. Clairvoyance may look good for a TV Show, but when the police have a case to solve it’s better to don’t waste any money on that kind of method. To sum up, the police are likely to raise eyebrows when received bizarre tip-offs, but they should focus on the gathered evidences and tips from the public.
