Jay suggested a provocative theory that the earth did not rotate the sun.

Is the above sentence correct?

The earth rotates on its axis - it spins. The earth revolves around the sun - it orbits the sun. So, I believe Jay suggested that it did not revolve AROUND the sun.

The earth rotates on its axis - it spins.

The earth revolves around the sun - it orbits the sun.

So, I believe Jay suggested that it did not revolve AROUND the sun. (Or it did not ORBIT the sun.)
