Provident / forward thinking? / farseeing

Hello.

Which of the three words should I use in the sentence below?

"When we arrived at the beach, I realized I had left my swimsuit at home, but, luckily, my mom had been provident / forward thinking / farseeing enough to throw it in her bag before we left."

Top answer

I wouldn't use any of those choices, least of all 'provident'. 'farsighted' would work, but we'd more likely say 'smart', maybe 'sensible', 'clever', or 'shrewd'. CJ
