Proverbs

Thanks for your interest in my post.

Please explain the meaning of the proverb 'long looked for, comes at last'. I saw this on the blog:

It is not grammatical English. I've not seen anything similar to that proverb. but I'll make a guess: Everything comes to him who waits.

Many of the "English Proverbs" listed on that page are not proverbs at all in English. I've never heard most of them , some are not written correctly (It should be "No pain, no gain," not the other way around) or might be called idioms but not proverbs ("*** for tat"). That page is definitely NOT a reliable source of English proverbs!!
