Prounuciation (What are you...)

Many time, I can't hear the word "are" in "what are you..." sentences.
It sounds to me like "whatdye".
examples: http://youglish.com/search/%22what%20are%20you%22/us

My question is for native speakers:
Do you pronounce the "are" and I just fail to hear it?
Or maybe you actally say "whatdye" instead. and if you realy say "whatdye", then what's the difference between that and the reduced form of "What do you..."?

Thanks

In the US, in rapid informal speech you might hear something like the following:

"What are you doing (that is, what activity are you engaged in performing)?" = "Waddaya doing?"

"What do you do (that is, what kind of work do you do)?" = "Waddaya do?"

That is, in these situations "what are you" and "what do you" are pronounced the same as: "waddaya."
