Protagonist intro...

How late can you introduce a protagonist (physically on screen) and still pull it off?
The Third man introduces the protagonist later than most movies... what are other movies that pushes that limit further?

Regards,
Jay Bala.

But you do have to know what you're doing when you're introducing your protagonist, whenever that is.

Likewise, there may be three movies that succeeded by introducing the protagonist on page 30, and there might be another five movies succeeded by introducing at page 55 and two at page 89... this is no

In "The Red Violin," the protagonist is introduced, well..., never.

Even if you stoop so far into the simplistic to consider the Samuel L. Jackson character to be the protagonist (and I don't), we never find out who or what he is until 110 minutes in.
