I always thought the word proposition meant 'something offered for consideration or acceptance', but I was watching the news just now and the news anchor was interviewing a guy and the guy was saying 'Israel has said that it might attack Iran' and the news anchor said 'that is a very scary proposition'. Just what does proposition mean here?
