Proposal for CAE

This is a writing task for the CAE exam, which I will be taking in two weeks. I would really appreciate the corrections and the suggestions so I can make some improvements. Thank you!

This is the writing task.

The college where you are studying English has received a gift of money to buy equipment for its study centre. The money can be spent on either three computers or on some other equipment. Students have been asked to write proposals suggesting exactly what the money should be spent on and explaining why they think this will be of particular use to language students.

Proposal for the use of the donation

Introduction

The purpose of this proposal is to suggest how to spend the money received by the English Department, and to give reasons for my choice.

The English Department actual situation

Some students have suggested that the donation should be spent on buying new computers but in my opinion we already have a large number of them. Two years ago, 10 new and modern computers were bought thanks to our successful fund fundraiser.
In my opinion the English Department needs a lot of things except of new computers. All our American literature books are really old and full of dust, making allergic people have a hard time whenever they want to read them. Our library, that was one of the best ones in the state a few years ago, is pretty empty and decadent right now. We do have all the classic books, but we do not have the new bestsellers, which would make students be more interested in the reading assignments.
On the other hand our projector stopped working three months ago, leaving us unable to watch movies and documentaries. Even though we have done all our work without it, I strongly recommend buying a new one. Watching English movies, series or documentaries had always helped to improve our accent and understanding. A new projector would be very useful. We could connect it to our laptop and make a Skype meeting with students all over the world.

Conclusion

For the above reasons I very much hope that the decision will be taken to spend the generous sum that has been donated on a new projector for our class and some new books for the library.
