Proper way to say

Hello, I was wondering if it is proper to ask the question "Where is the final destination...?" instead of "What is the final destination...?"

I feel the what should be used to avoid redundancy but others feel the where would be more appropriate.

Thank you in advance.

I would agree about "what".
Anonymousto avoid redundancy

It could be said that there is an element of redundancy in "the final destination".
