Proper use of question mark

Is the following sentence gramatically correct?

"

I finally met the people who shared my desire to answer the following question: how do you become a stronger person?

"

I think the question mark at the end looks odd, but a lot of times that's what happens with correct grammar! Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

Why not trying to use an indirect question thus avoiding the question mark?

I finally met the people who shared my desire to answer the question about how you become a stronger person.
