Proper use of "It was mentioned about"

Hi. There's a passive voice use of "mention about" that I've never seen before and I didn't want to rule it out as a mistake without asking a native speaker first. What's your opinion on this excerpt below? Should it be "it was mentioned as the power" or is it ok as is? Thanks.

"Hegemony comes from Greek words ‘leadership’ and ‘rule ’. It specifies that an element in a system is superior and more dominant than others. In Antonio Gramsci's writings, it was mentioned about the power which was gained by the dominant group, through the agency of the minority group comply to dominant group."

Sorry, I'm making a correction to the question: Should it be "it was mentioned about as the power" ? I seem to have omitted the "about" while typing.

Greetings. I had recently posted a question about the proper use of "it was mentioned about" and made a correction to my question in a reply. Thus, my post now appears to have been answered. In truth, I only corrected the phrasing of my question. So basically, it's still unanswered. Would you fine gentlemen be so kind as to answer it please? It is as below:
