Proper Use of Dashes?

Hi everyone,

In the following sentence, have I used the dashes correctly? Does narrator need to be repeated in the last part to avoid confusion, or would it be better to write "he", instead?

The narrator’s description of the ecclesiastical group discloses the corruptness of the church at the time—both the controversial lifestyles of its members and greed—and provides the reader information about the narrator’s character.

Thanks!

The narrator’s description of the ecclesiastical group discloses the corruptness of the church at the time—both the controversial lifestyles of its members and their greed—and provides the reader information about the narrator’s character. The m-dashes are placed correctly (though you should know that formal writing frowns on their use). You don't need 'he' or 'narrator' again.
