Proper usage of "attuned to"

Is it correct to say "the text is making me attuned to accepting different ideas" if what I'm trying to say is the text is making me become accustomed to accepting different ideas?

Is that how you think of "attuned" though, Avangi? I would say that if I were becoming attuned, I would be becoming more aware of something. I don't know that it works with that sentence.

I was uncomfortable with the OP as it stood, but felt that adding "more" would have made it work. I know that's not what I said.

It's a little crazy. I'd say that in some cases "attuned" can be an absolute and in other cases we can use the comparative.
