Proper pronoun?

Please tell me if this is correct. It just doesn't sound right to me. And my name is Sandy, not Anonymous! I don't have time to register right now. Here it is: "I have been fortunate enough to get to know both he and Larry through multiple interviews over these past several years."

How would you word this? Thanks!

Hi Sandy,

No, your sentence is not correct.

"I have been fortunate enough to get to know both Larry and him through multiple interviews over these (the is better) past several years."

If you take out "both", the structure is clear:

I got to know him though interviews.

It sounds better to put the proper name first, then the pronoun.
