Proper Grammer

As the word wistful is an adjective can it be used to say: I sit wistful, at the end of my bed...

or

...should I be saying, I sit wistfully, so that it is used as an adverb to describe the verb sit?

One other question.

Which sounds better? I sit wistfully, or Wistfully I sit? And is Wistfully I set proper?
