Proper Comma Use for Ending a Sentence with "First"

If you end a sentence with the word "first" used as an adverb, ought it be preceded with a comma? For example:
You should connect the blue wire first.
or
You should connect the blue wire, first.

Thanks in advance!

Placing a comma even after an introductory first seems like overkill to me, and that's coming from a strict punctuator.
