Cellphone is one of the most interesting tool we can use at work.

Office are full of technologies like printers, computers, fax, phones, etc. After a couple of months in an office, I think the most powerful tool is the cellphone for the communication capability. Before the cellphone, people were communicating by email or fax; this was slow and not easy to get quick answer. This was a nightmare when the deadline was tight and people need to get connected quickly. With that tool, I easier to reach people around the world and at any time of the day. I only had to pay to unlock it worldwide and the world is now open for business. Another good point, the cellphone gathers quickly more information than other tools. During events, I can add new contact information or look online to find interesting information to tell to people. The bottom line is the cellphone provide an easier way to access to more information.

Although, the cellphone can provide hedges for a small company, it can be a nightmare when it’s not use for what it was built. When I was working in a small company, I saw a lot of employee wasting their time on their device. Consequently, we had to block some websites on the Wi-Fi, so employee will decrease their time on their phone and be more productive. Another point is this device increase the risk of an accident. I have never seen an accident caused by a phone, but a good friend of mine saw an employee driving and texting and he crashed the car into the wall. This example is a good proof of the cellphone can make the working environment more dangerous.

These were the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones. In the end, it all depends on our usage. Cell phones are the most personal and important device to employee and we should make an optimal use of them with some limitations.
