Dear Miss Boris,
I called you this morning, but your secretary said you were on the Board meeting at that time.
I am writing to enquire about a few questions concerning the extension project at our factory.
The air conditioning was due to be put in this week, but the subcontractors weren’t there. I called the site foreman yesterday; however, they said everything was on hold.
I thought it would be a transport delay because the system is coming from Japan. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a hold up at the supplier’s end because of a quality control issue at the plant.
As you are well aware, the rest of the construction work is more or less finished, but we cannot start the assembly line until this system is operational for health and safety reasons. We were due to begin production next week. So I hope you can deal with these problems immediately.
With regards to the contract we drew up earlier, we will be allowed to claim compensation in these circumstances. So could you please inform the building company that we are expecting the compensation for each day’s further delay?
