The issue of money management deserves careful attention because it is such a complex one. Some people say they prefer to save their money while others urge that they would like to spend it right away.
When these two points of view are compared, personally speaking, I think saving money is better.
Let’s consider spending money first. There are a lot of advantages of spending money; for example, you can buy whatever you like and improve your living standard. If all of us just save money we earn and never spend it, how does this world would be like?
Now, let’s focus on saving money. I think it is very important for students to save money because their living expenses as well as their tuition fees mainly come from their parents. It may impose a financial burden on their parents if they spend lots of money on unnecessary things, such as luxury products or gambling.
Besides, unlike many developed countries, Chinese public services, such as health care and education still have plenty of room for improvement. Most Chinese families would rather save most of their money than spend it because they think money is the sense of security.
Last, but not least, I find some disadvantages of spending money. Last month, it is reported that a university student committed suicide in his dorm because he owed an astonishing $50,000 in credit card. This report has aroused public concern recently. Whether it is necessary for students to apply credit card and learn money management is a quite important issue.

From my point of view, I am in favor of saving money because its advantages are qualitatively greater than that of spending money. Finally, I don’t mean to suggest that spending money is completely without merit. However, from the reasons I have presented above, I think my opinion is the most persuasive.
